About Me

My journey toward becoming a teacher started right here in Greeley, Colorado. There have been many twists and turns along this journey, and I was quite surprised to find myself back where I started.

Greeley is an agricultural community of about 80,000 people just east of the Rocky Mountains. While this may be appealing to many, to me it was screaming "GET OUT!!!"

Horace Greeley called out, "Go west, young man!" Going west sounded like fun, heading east sounded like a challenge, but it was the north that appealed to me. I found myself in Laramie, Wyoming, a town of 24,000, where I could be an active part of the community while going to school.
Once in Laramie, I enrolled at the University of Wyoming as a Political Science major. It did not take long for me to discover that I had no passion to work in this field, and so my quest to find a major and a passionate career started. This journey in self discovery proved to be an arduous one. There would be many twists, many turns, and many bumps along the way, but in the end it has made me stronger.

Here I am two schools, three careers, a half dozen majors, and several difficult years later. I have finally found what it was that I was looking for. My passion falls in a compilation of all of my experiences, my education, and in the heart of my life. I found that it is true that I have loved all of these things, but rather than practice any of them, I want to spur this passion into the hearts of the next generation, allow them to learn from my experiences, and gain from my knowledge.

So here I am, back in Greeley, Colorado, ready to face the challenges of making my dreams come true. I am now just a few semesters away from my degree in Secondary Education at the University of Northern Colorado.
